Mayday Brewery Murfreesboro

Craft Brewers. It’s become a huge business throughout the U.S. and The Boro is no different. The O.G. of Boro Brewery is our personal fav…Mayday Brewery. When we first started to visit Mayday, the block of industrial buildings that house their frothy goodness had absolutely nothing going for it…other than beer. It seriously looked like a backdrop for one of the Saw movies.

Today, most everyone in town will know the location either thru Mayday or The Experience Community Church. Yep…you read that right. In true Southern fashion, there’s a church literally down the hall. If you’re looking for a place to worship…check it out…then, meet us for a brew. 😊

Mayday was opened by an eccentric cat by the name of Ozzy. He's best known for his hippy demeanor, round glasses and wild hair. After garage brewing as a hobby for years…he was so impressed with his skills he decided all of humanity needed to experience his creations. At the very least, the residents of Murfreesboro. Mayday opened in November of 2012 on one man’s obsession for a great brew and a desire for a hip place for all to enjoy. Since then, Ozzy has expanded his brewery, number of employees, outdoor seating, selfie station and craft selections of 23 brews and 1 cider. Order the flight sampler to get a good taste of what’s available but be sure to try one of the original four brews: Boro Blonde (my fav), Angry Red Head, Velvet Hustle and Evil Octopus. And, come hungry with stretchy pants…the food trucks on site will be the undoing of your diet or pizza and wings from the kitchen.

I highly recommend scheduling a tour of the brewery by Ozzy. Be sure to book in advance as there’s a 12-person minimum. He’s incredibly entertaining completely sober but add a brew or two to the mix and the 45 minutes with him will be the highlight of your weekend.

The tasting room is a great spot to hear live music or play one of their board/card games with a table of your closest friends or random strangers. Definitely check out their upcoming events. Mayday is truly focused on pulling the community together across all walks of life. The next 60 days of their schedule is a perfect example: Paints & Brews, Yoga & Beer, Luau Party, Goat Night (literal baby goats), Bike Night, Karaoke, The Office Trivia, Cookie Decorating, Pups on the Patio, Disney Character Day, Hot Chicken & Jorts, Harry Potter Festival and the list goes on and on.

Drinks on the patio and a laid-back community is calling your name at Mayday. Go.
