Champagne Garden Brunch

Thanks to COVID…our little outings have understandably declined and our Uber Eats account is our second largest monthly expense at this point. Thankfully…The Geist just reopened and they’ve made their outdoor space socially distanced friendly! I jumped at this chance to see some friends and try to remember how to apply makeup.

A little about the venue…this 1886 blacksmith shop turned into a sophisticated bar and restaurant within throwing distance of First Horizon Park aka the Nashville Sounds stadium. Pun intended. It boasts “American and European fare serving bespoke cocktails and wine in Nashville’s only year-round Champagne Garden.”

The building originally opened in 1886 by German immigrant John Geist Sr. and was formerly known as The John Geist and Sons Blacksmith Shop…Nashville’s oldest business with continuous family ownership and operation. The building was meticulously reconstructed in 1900 and again in 2020 after taking a a hit during the March tornado outbreaks. It reopened this past December and was the perfect socially distanced restaurant for an outdoor brunch with the gals!

While we can’t give you much info about the amazingly delish dinner menu…the brunch menu was ON POINT. They’ve transformed their outdoor space into a cozy winterland dream complete with heaters and roaring fireplaces. We were beyond comfortable our entire meal.

The bourbon caramel and candied pecan cinnamon rolls were enough to make you give up your jeans and commit to yoga pants for the rest of your life. I cannot accurately describe how amazing they were. Just order them. Callie ordered the biscuits & gravy which were solid with a really yummy gravy and mile high biscuits. My pick, the eggs florentine was tasty and perfectly cooked but if I am honest…I would have traded them for another order of the cinnamon biscuits. Seriously...that good. Lori ordered a blacksmith breakfast complete with home fries and bacon…you can never go wrong with bacon.

Would definitely go again for not only the dinner menu but another go at the brunch menu…eyeing the breakfast corn dogs…the table next to us had an order of them and if corndogs could ever look fancy…this is it!

Parking is to the side of the building, both paid and free. Von Elrods is next door if you still have room for an app and a brew afterwards or try their hot cocoa...a dessert and drink all in one.
